Yeah, I agree with Tornado.

It looks like a really old one that was modified so that the electric motor could be attached to it.

I call them scroll saws. It looks like it could be homemade, like something my grandfather would have built.

It's a scroll saw. I saw plans to build one like it in a "VERY" old copy of popular mechanics.

Definitely a scroll saw. Jig saws (around here anyway) do not have the over arm. Now you probably want to know if it is a pin or clamp type. If you look close at the lower arm you can see that it has the cradle to hold the pin style blades.

Erector set? They are only a copy of "Meccano" patented/created 9+ years earlier. Any new "erector set" you buy now is actually made by Meccano.
