According to a just-released study by Infiniti Research, the Global Air Conditioner market is set to grow at a CAGR of 18.5 percent over the period 2011-2015. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increased need for energy-efficient air conditioners. The steady replacement of older air conditioners is also a factor that is contributing to the growth of the market.
The Global Air Conditioner market has also been witnessing the development and increasing use of inverter-based air conditioners. This increase in competition has led to a decrease in the overall price of air conditioners despite improving efficiencies.
Consequently, there is an increase in price wars among the players in the market. This is also because of the large variety of vendors and their varying pricing strategies aimed at capturing significant shares in the market. Furthermore, the vendors are focusing on the development of economically-priced products in an attempt to tap the price-driven market sector.
