Global Air Conditioner Market to Grow 18.5% - Are You Participating??

Posted November 06, 2012 9:47 AM by larhere

According to a just-released study by Infiniti Research, the Global Air Conditioner market is set to grow at a CAGR of 18.5 percent over the period 2011-2015. One of the key factors contributing to this market growth is the increased need for energy-efficient air conditioners. The steady replacement of older air conditioners is also a factor that is contributing to the growth of the market.

The Global Air Conditioner market has also been witnessing the development and increasing use of inverter-based air conditioners. This increase in competition has led to a decrease in the overall price of air conditioners despite improving efficiencies.

Consequently, there is an increase in price wars among the players in the market. This is also because of the large variety of vendors and their varying pricing strategies aimed at capturing significant shares in the market. Furthermore, the vendors are focusing on the development of economically-priced products in an attempt to tap the price-driven market sector.

18.5% over 5 years is 3.45% per year compounded.

Is that much to write home about?

CAGR is the Compound Annual Growth Rate which is the average annual growth rate over this period.

This is a mixed bag. Some in USD, others in millions of units. Depends on what is customary way of presenting data in each market segment.

Hmmmmnmm. Okay.

I don't wish to sound adversarial, but... just what is projected to increase 18.5% annually? Armed with your explanation it now sounds like a meaningless number.

Do we really have to spend the $1,500 bucks for a report?

This doesn't take into account the increased global heat and the fact that it is increasing desert-like conditions on a larger percentage of land area. And higher onto the sides of mountains.

Never mind the CAUSE of the warming.

Air conditioners do seem like an example of a positive feedback mechanism....

Still. Never mind. Just as long as there are increasing sales, eh?
