Electric Mat

04/28/2008 8:26 AM

Hi Friends,

I hope that most of you have heard & studied about flying mat, that came as a news in "The Times of India", about 1 month before. It was based on a principle just opposite to that of Electro-magnetic induction so as to develop a large negative voltage which further helps in lifting the mat, against the gravitational effect of the Earth.

That principle was not quite clear to me, so if anybody know that, provide me the clarification.

Could you provide a link to the article in question?

This could be in response to a TV ad that shows a bunch of carpets in a factory flying thru the air and then one goes out of control. You can do about anything with todays cameras and Photoshop or Pinnacle. It is much harder to do it in real life.

Look here, http://keelynet.com/gravity/majorde.htm . There are several other links but this is the earliest flying demonstrator.

That's fascinating. But in the 44 years since that was published, you'd think if it was going to be developed into practical transportation we'd have heard the rustlings...

Just imagine how this multi kilovolt dependent machine would behave in a fog or better yet, a rainstorm. It's really an impractical idea for earth bound transportation purposes however ion propulsion is very practical in Space applications.

Commercially, de Seversky demonstrated a concept which was later used to develop Sharper Image's "Ionic Breeze" room ionizer.

I'm sure it would be highly entertaining - from a great enough distance!

You might wish to check out the work of T.T. Brown and Professor Biefield of Denison University. It deals with the effects of high voltage capacitors and ion wind.

I will leave you to the joy of discovery.

Dear JE in Chicago, The only draw back is that the power source on that particular device is external. I am in the process of working on a device that is a variation on the quantum flux generator. Small enough for field testing in the near future. Output is in 1010 watts range.

In the meantime, I suggest that you research T.T. Brown and Professor Biefield's work on high voltage capacitors. Called Biefield-Brown effect.
