I've just started a new job, and will be working on road trucks and equipment that convey and distribute sand/salt on the roads. The conveyances and metals are rusty, and we are refurbishing equipment. I would like to know what paints, coatings, etc could be applied to extend the lifetime of the steel? and if we design any new equipment, what materials best withstand the salt/brine, and are affordable? I expect stainless steel may work, but not be affordable enough. Any suggestions are appreciated. Any experience stories also.
Thanks in advance,
Chris
