what are indiaction and causes of overloaded generator?

Slows down and trips. Load too high.

The cause will be the connection of too much load for the equipment to supply.

The indications:

  • If it's been installed and commissioned correctly, operation of (a) circuit protective device(s).
  • If it hasn't, something like this:

Dear Sir,

Indications : Abnormal noise / drop in speed / drop in voltage / slows down

and grinds to a halt / heavy black smoke / AVR burnt out etc.

Causes :(1) Sudden heavy loads coming on set ( like failure of soft-start

mechanism used for heavy loads). (2) Bearing failure of the generator (3) Any piston

seizure on the engine side. (4) reduction or no supply of Diesel to the set. (5) less

air intake etc.
