A satellite hurtling towards Earth could crash almost anywhere in the populated world, Nasa says, although the risk to the public is low.

Apparently it was 320:1 of anyone getting hit...and about 2 trillion of a particular individual getting hit.

Seems they lost all the bits...Canada or the Pacific seem favourite last resting places.

It's so thoughtful/kind/considerate for NASA to drop it elsewhere than over the North American continent. Assuming it breaks up, the largest lump will be about the weight of a small motorcycle doing 100mph when it impacts according to predications, with smaller bits going faster (this sort of thing happens in South London every Saturday night, of course....).

If it arrives in Euroland, its return under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive is a distinct possibility - provided it doesn't hit the recipient on the bonce as it lands...
