How Important Is 'Net Neutrality' to You?

Posted October 24, 2011 8:24 AM

The argument for "Net neutrality" is that Internet service providers shouldn't be the gatekeepers, as to which sites someone can access, and they shouldn't be allowed to throttle the data transfer rates for any given site. Opponents say regulators should keep their hands off the Internet. Where do you come down on this issue? Is regulation - requiring no tiered access to bandwidth - a bad idea, in this case? Or, will the absence of regulation give ISPs too much power over which content providers have access to the Internet audience?

That's what I've been saying as well.

well Capitalism finding something people need gain control then create a shrotage and raise the price -- we paid to wire the world for the Internet with Worldcom and it's huge Bankruptcy now the ISP's want to take ownership of what the American People have paid for to build.

To me it is the same as turning over a Interstate Highway the American People build to some Corporation to run a toll road and it will have to same results. Cost to access it will be high and the road will be very bumpy.
