What do you mean? For a cavalier, if its running, something's wrong with it.

I'm waiting for a post of,

Dear CR4 friends,

I have a cavalier, that's been running trouble free for years,.... does anyone know what's wrong with it. I'd like to get it fix.

As shown in this auto show entry this Chevy Cavalier has been accurately displayed in its best known pose which is with the hood up, trunk open while sitting on the front lawn.

Pretty much says it all....

I've now seen two examples in my life of people having supreme confidence.

The first was a guy who drove a dynamite delivery truck and cheated with his boss's wife, who told me he was worried he might die some day from the cigarettes he smoked.

The second was this guy, who put racing stripes on a Chevy Cavalier.

It's a ruse. Most likely the engine is dead and between shows it lives on a trailer because the owner can't find the problem. Probably best use ever of a Cavalier.

Sorry - but being UK based the replies go over my head. It must be a 'local' USA thing about Chevy Cavaliers.

But if I get the drift right, and in the spirit of the occasion, if I had a banger to get rid of, I might have luck if I advertise as:

For sale - 20 year old banger - ex-stock car - cracked windscreen - leaking radiator - burning oil - misfires - needs new battery - has just legal tyres - sold without warranty for spares at little over scrap value - but driveable and licenced and might interest Chevy Cavalier driver moving up-market.

My mates loved taking cavaliers out to the banger races, not as good as a mk 2 granada but they would hang a 5/8 steel plate on the drivers door that would hold it together till the destruction derby.

That picture of a Cavalier with a hood up is reminiscent of a 70's era Harley Davidson motorcycle parked on the side of the highway with a puddle of oil under it.

Now wait a minute...

My 2nd Harley was a 75 FLH and it did not leak a drop. Trick was to rebuild them afer AMF screwed them up.

AMF really hosed HD.... after I turned 18 I switch from Suzuki (400 TS, That took me through my teen years) to '74 Electraglide.

Of which as soon as I could I went to a Honda Goldwing.

HD rider: "Oh no, my Harley needs oil...."

Honda Rider: "How can you tell?"

HD Rider: "There's no oil puddle under it"

Yeah, the AMF years were a dark period in history. I think Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Suzuki all secretly sponsored AMF's purchase of Harley.

Re: Caption This for 1/22/16

that conspiracy needs a post of its own.

In the 60's, my dad bought (2) pre-Harley Davidson Snowmobiles.... (Ski-Diddler's)

Funny name, They were actually built by AMF, and good machines. had one sitting out side for 20 years, and about 15 or so years ago, My brother looked at them, engine wasn't froze up and took it into the shop. Within 1/2 hour they were running, and he tooled around in the woods with them.... I was expecting the track to fall about, but we I look at it, it was in pretty good condition. (They had kick stands that you could lift them up so the track doesn't contact the ground.

Then AMF bought HD mad 70's or so, and changed the color from Silver to orange and the name it to HD. Guess the sled turned in to a POS

Then there was the Chrysler Sno Runner

Funny about AMF, they could build a pretty good snowmobile. One of my older brothers had an older twin cylinder 440 back in the late seventies. That thing was scary fast as it was a lightweight sled and pretty competent for the day. Nothing compared to today's sleds though. I kinda wish I lived in snow country. I miss the 'sleds'.

When I was snowmobiling in the 80's ... '74 340 el tegre (Arctic cat) bought it from a guy who had it in his basement for 10 year, had 300 miles on it $300.00.

And I remember the people who bought the 440s doesn't matter the brand. They would say, you don't need a bigger sled.... When the 500's and 550's came out, they were the first to buy them.

I think they bought the bigger sleds was to compensate for other things that came up short.. :P

I think back then the biggest limitation was the suspension or lack thereof and hence you really didn't need much more than a 440. With the super long travel suspensions on today's sleds able to absorb a lot more abuse, you can put in a much more powerful engine. One of life's cruel realities, now that I have the money, the body is not quite as willing (or maybe the brain got some sense?)

Along with the suspension, it's the adjustments on it for different conditions... This isn't your fathers Ski-Doo.

Should have been factiory standard instructions.

Another example of the wheels and stereo being worth more than the car.

And somebody actually made a body kit for a Cavalier!? That had to be a short lived business venture.
