Calibrating an ADC

Posted January 24, 2008 8:11 AM

Hand held devices used in applications ranging from measuring toxic gas, to blood glucose need calibration to ensure accuracy. This article describes an on-the-fly calibration technique for dual-slope analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). It allows detection and compensation for changes in zero-offset and voltage span. How do you keep devices calibrated?

The preceding article is a "sneak peek" from Data Acquisition, a newsletter from GlobalSpec. To stay up-to-date and informed on industry trends, products, and technologies, subscribe to Data Acquisition today.
