Few Natural Resources + Nukes = Global Conflict?

Posted December 14, 2008 8:33 AM

According to a recently released report from the National Intelligence Council, diminishing natural resources and the proliferation of nuclear weapons could unleash a plurality of regional conflicts around the globe. Global Trends 2025, reported in the Washington Post identifies the nations with the highest potential for conflict: from Sub-Saharan Africa through North Africa, to the Middle East, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and South and Central Asia, and parts of Southeast Asia. What should be done to minimize the probability of such events?

THE SCIENCE OR ENGINEERING DO NOT HAVE ANY ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM.

THE ONLY WAY IS IN HINDUISM, THAT IS BHAGWADGITA BY LORD KRISHNA. REAd IT, UNDERSTAND IT AND SPREAD IT.

IT TEACHES HOW TO LIVE BY HELPING EACH OTHER WITHOUT ANY EXPECTATION FROM ANYBODY. THAT IS "VISHWACHI MAZE GHAR"(THE MEANING IS COMPLETE WORLD IS MY HOME AND ALL THE PEOPLE ON THIS EARTH ARE MY FAMILY MEMBERS.THERE WILL NOT BE ANY BOUNDRY FOR COUNTRIES, NO CONFLICTS OVER LAND, WATER AND OTHER NATURAL RESOURCES. IF A FAMILY MEMBER(ANY COUNTRY) IS SUFFERING FROM DROUGHT, OTHER MEMBERS WILL PROVIDE FOOD WATER SHELTER TO THEM .NOBODY FROM FAMILY WILL LOOT ANY FAMILY MEMBER.ALL WILL LIVE HAPPILY. IT SOUNDS DIFFICULT BUT NOT IMPOSSIBLE IF EVERYONE STUDIES HINDUISM AND ADAPT IT.)

THANK YOU

HINDUISM as an answer has already failed badly in India and every where else it has been preached. Like all religion, extreemists take it and twist it to suit their own agenda. The cast system is a good example from Hinduism, Lord Krishna never put it in but some extreemists have made it the best know part of Hinduism.

I believe Buddhism would be much more efficient method of control. After all that is what we are discussing is it not? Control of resources, control of people. Truly no faith is free of controllers. But the key is "Who is in control?"

No organized religion in the past 2500 years has been about anything but control and subjugation. Some of the Pagan Religions have the least amount of this lethal (to faith) influence.

I have been studying the world's religions for the past twenty-five years, and they are more alike than differant.

Possibly a new system of belief is in order. One that does not include subjugation as one of it's basic foundations.

Hi,

I agree to you completely,

there are peaceful religions and there are fundamentalists that may turn into criminals.

Much fewer with Buddhist and Hinduist background than those that derive their believing from Talmud, Bible or Koran.

So I think that the states shall start to control and restrict fundamentalistic education, see what the Turkish revolution of Kemal Atatürk achieved: control of religious schools by the state.

I do not know one single state in the modern states around the north Atlantic that is acting similar.

In the contrary I know some governments (including Germany where I live) that seem not to recognise what is going on with fundamentalistic education: preparing the basis for future trouble.

So first action should be: ensure an open education that is acknowledging the good and the evils of other religions.

Next: any government or dictator that is thinking about eradicating another population or state should be threatened by the UNO to be caught the sooner the better: Wanted: Dead or alive, 10M$$ per person. The extent of such a threat shall include the total inner circle of government-like persons. And the UNO shall be equipped with some RPV like predator and hellfire system to enforce this. Any threat with weapons of mass destruction shall be included. Other attacks to be discussed how to include.

So second action: Threat of imprisonment or kill to be established against classical aggressors.

This is not bombing of other states territory as NATO did in Serbia! This is hunting and killing criminal individuals.

Third: we will have to learn to go a way of either restricting our population growth: China is like a fanal of early action against overpopulation as a source of poverty and conflict. Or we have to learn how to live with a considerable part of our population starving: many parts of this world.

I cannot foresee the longterm (200 + years) consequences of both possibilities. I admire the Chinese decision.

I am not sure about natural selection: survival of the fittest is still acting in any of these possibilities?

Third necessity: political strategy to ensure resources to survive for everybody or "laissez faire - laissez aller" - we as government we don't care if a fraction of our people is starving and dying by lack of vital necessities.
