Thank you CR4

11/27/2008 12:43 PM

I'd like to take this time to say thank you to CR4 staff and contributors. Ever since I found this site it has been a big part of my day.

The discussions have been informative, enlightening, funny, not so funny (downright cruel at times), and basically a slice of life I would not have had if I had not arived here through an internet search.

on Thanksgiving Day, it is incumbent on us as Americans to reflect on the many blessings that we enjoy. While it is modern practice to look at life through negative lens these days, we have much to be thankful for. Our families, homes, lives, health, wives, jobs, education, professions, ability to afford three meals a day, safe food and water, the fact that we have reliable utilities where we live, great teachers, modern conveniences, information at our fingertips, the list goes on and on and on and on.

When I started counting my blessings, I quickly ran out for fingers and toes.

Then it occurred to me that's why they teach us multiplication.

WHen the first settlers arrived here, they recognized that survival was not something that they could take for granted, and so they gave thanks...

For many of us, CR4 is part of our presence in the "greater community" where we can communicate with like minded colleagues, any where in the world. To assist, to share, to learn, to teach, to protect, to awaken and be awakened.

For this, we gave our thanks.

Many times I'm sure that most of us have been overcome with the rigors of daily life and our blessings seem to take a back seat in our thoughts.

But we All have much to be thankful for each and every day.

Thank you Shadetree for starting this thread and Thank you Milo for saying it so eloquently!

I agree. Hat's off to CR4. CR4 has been a big part of maintaining contact with "thinking individuals" and provides a forum for hearing about and discussing new ideas.

Thanksgiving was yesterday, but I didn't get to check what CR4 was doing.

I'd like to echo the above sentiments. I've had a few occasions to help others, a few occasions for others to help me, and had a lot of insight, humor, and just plain entertainment from you all.

God (by whatever name you know Him) bless every one of you.

Hi all,

As a good Spanish, I'm an absolute illiterate on US habits. Of course I've heard about Thanks giving day but I never understood its real meaning.

So, even being a bit late I wish to thank Shadetree as OP and Milo by one of his usual great explanations.

Hope all my US colleagues HAD a good TG day.

Kind regards

I have always believed that grattitude was one of the most important human characteristics. It ranks right up there with humility.
