I know! I get called a geek occasionally here at work (along with our IT guy), but it's probably thought more often that it's spoken aloud. I take it as a badge of honor!

Yes!

And folks, don't forget to mark your calendars and bake those pies (and pizzas) because March 14 - π Day - will be here before you know it!

Also mark June 18 - Conjugate Φ Day (sorry, no link, as this one is my invention). We celebrated our First Annual Conjugate Φ Day on 6/18/03. Suitable fare: Golden Ratio Cake (mmmm, good!) and Lasagna. This year's theme will be the Parthenon.

does 01 01 01 also count as a square root day.

That was also the first day in the new millennium and the second Y2K day.

We have always celebrated i day (for mathematicians) or j day (for engineers) on February 30th. Any excuse to take a day off from work.

This has got me wondering about Cube Root Day - a date where the second digit is 3, and the first digit is the cube root of last two digits of the year.

That would mean we missed celebrating 2 3 08, and we will have to wait until 3 3 27.

Now, for having thought of that, what kind of geek would that make me?
