I was told there are parts of India where the snakes are sacred and can not be harmed in any way......this man was a Sikh driver. He stopped and waited for the huge snake to cross.
The cobra stopped, reared up in front of the man who was standing next to his truck. The animal then went back down and headed off into the tall grass. It was if the snake was acknowlidging the driver. Its head was off the road while his tail was still in the grass on the other side. I was told the roadway was approx. 4.5 Meters wide.
Although when I was near an old aquaculture facility near the Krishna River, I saw my first Koriwala (?) and was told it was better to be bitten by a Cobra!
It seems we have come full circle. Oriborus (and Set) was the serpent that St. Patrick drove from Ireland and slayed the dragon of Paganisim. Bringing Christianity to the Druids, mostly by massacre of the entire cadre of Druid priests. This is the subject of the aforementioned 'Wicker Man'.
Environmentalists, Tree huggers, and concerned citizens are now searching what's left of the database left from the burning of the libraries of Alexandria.
You see? Our collective subconcious still wants to know; "What the hell is going on?"
If you really want to know why there are no snakes in Ireland, study land mass seperation (techtonic plates etc. and why there still Palm trees there).
Will this spawn a new thread? I bet it comes full circle again.
