Oi!!! I resemble that remark!

I used to get told off in competitions for my draw technique. I start with my left arm down by my side, holding the grip and with the bow horizontal and perpendicular to my body (the guys standing either side got goosed if too close!) and right hand branced on the string. I then raise and draw in one smooth movement, with the bow rotating through 90° and my left arm straight (but not locked) throughout while my right hand rotates and guides the string to my "at draw" point (lips for target; middle finget in mouth like Rob Wilton for bare bow) whilst my back/shoulders provide the power.

Once in position, I rotated my left elbow so it doesn't get hit by the string (let's see who can envisage that one!), breathe out, aim and release.

Sometimes I forget about aiming....

The device in your hands is an opticofibulator. It is used to realign camera lenses. As you are showing, the lower end is whacked against the front of the camera. It is the low-priced version of a tilt shift camera lens setup.

The exercises are paying off, I just about pulled the bow back to full draw last night.
I also tested it to 1" over draw which gave 100 pounds at 29"
