At least two 5kW sources are needed, operating duty/duty, or a single one rated for a 10kW load. Either that or at least 50% of the load needs to be shed.

Doing nothing will cause the 5kW equipment's overcurrent protection device to operate.

There is no such a equipment yet. You have to increase your source capacity or reduce your load.

I have a solution to your problem.

LynDoor® Inc. Overunity power generators are free and produce 100KwH of excess power so you can sell the un-needed power to cover the cost of shipping.

Just send your address, along with $100,000.00US for postage and we'll have one at your door yesterday. No need to hook it up, either. All you do is put it in the same room with the load.

Happy times ahead.

Are you sure this isn't Vader ? If yes, this makes three so far.

I believe you are right. Sounds like one of his victims. I was just trying to make a fast buck while the OP's brain was still muddled.

I like your solution.

Ah, the LynDoor® Mark1. We need to make up some ad slicks and print some brochures! These things are really taking off!

Let those over-unity scoffers snort their disbelief. From the veranda of my Swiss villa I will drink a toast to them all (after we work out those few pesky details).

Sometimes it's possible to break a large load up into smaller components and then run just one piece at a time. This can often work with electric heaters or pumps

It's also possible to reduce the motor startup load using star-delta or soft starters.

Sometimes different gearing/motor sizes can help loading ie a rarely used big motor could be replaced with a continually running small motor.

Sometimes you can use different power sources ie swap electric heaters for gas fired heating.

It depends completely on the type of equipment and how much time/effort you have

It's probably cheapest to get a bigger power source

Good morning Randall.

Just use a one pint glass with a 100% safety margin!
