"Actually... Upon second thought... that design might work quite well... of course, they would need to be battery powered turbines. But highly maneuverable, fast, and stealthy."

US Government has signed a contract for 14.6 Billion dollars for the research and development of this new type of superweapon...

...and of course, after 3 years and 62.3 billion dollars, the program has been scrapped.

I hope that the pilot(s) was/were able to eject in time before ditching - it's hard to tell for sure, as the water's a bit murky, but it does somewhat appear that the canopy is missing - A scene from the next James Bond movie perhaps?

Top Gun movie star Tom Cruise had contractual rights to perform his own stunts. This worked well until he then realized the contract also included paying for damages incurred filming those stunts. He now owns this aircraft but refuses to have it recovered. Hollywood rumor circles suggest there is brown seat syndrome that Cruise doesn't want confirmed.
