My wife told me that the truck was easy to drive and she could park it in any space provided. Yup, who am I to argue now.

Probably a thought, but rejected when it did not sport a vanity mirror and AC.

I think this was in the UK and she probably was driving on the wrong side of the tree.

Well, that's my guess.

My serious guess is she hit the front tree just slightly off center, but with enough force to lift the tail of the car upon impact.

Since the impact was off center the car's tail end twisted while airborne and the tail came down on the second tree. QED - she has one for the record books.

My next guess is that she got out and called her husband and claimed that the battery was dead.

"What happened, honey?"

"Well, that little red engine light came on, just like it has all week, and I was looking at it and wondering why they didn't let you choose a different color instead of red because blue would go much better with the interior and the next thing I know is I'm stuck in the trees!"

Re: Caption This for 04/18/14

I remember a story from Car Talk where a caller said that he had his oil changed and shortly afterward got the Check Engine Light. So he promptly turned off the car as it had no oil (you know the stories).

One of the brothers hosting the show scolded the car's owner saying the last thing you should have done is stop!

His reasoning is that there probably already was some form of engine damage, but there is no easy way to tell, so you can't get the oil shop to repair the engine if it fails in a year or so.

Driving it until it dies would have forced the shop to pay for the engine.

That would have been the best approach (in most cases) for a *man* to do, and it was a man's answer from a man's point-of-view.

Thing is, for a woman to allow the engine to fail just anywhere is very risky. For a woman driving somewhere, her car is her best and often, only, defense. By shutting off the engine or not, at her discretion, she retains control of where she does so. So, yeah, if it were you or me or that talk-show host, driving til the engine failed would be reasonable, but not for a woman and for the best reason of all: personal safety.

The trees in Anon Hero's yard taper - vertically upward. I DO wish he'd offer an explanation of how his wife wedged their car between those two trees (see Post #3). I'm sure it didn't seriously violate any physical laws. Not seriously, anyway.

It started simply enough with Bob building ships in a bottle, then boats in the basement, now he's moved on to building trucks on the freeway.
