All That Glitters

Metallic surfaces are popular finishes in consumer electronics and appliances, but many manufacturers are feeling the pinch from expensive metals, including stainless steel and copper. Porcelain-enamel coatings treated with metallic pigments and metal flakes are providing trendy alternatives that are just as shiny, but less costly. Also, enamels are easy to clean, corrosion and scratch resistant, and, since they don't require the use of solvents, are environmentally friendly.

"All that Glitters is Gold" They are trying to sell phony Gold coated coins here in the states. Unless I am mistaken only rubes are falling for it. Do you know about the effectiveness of using the fake coatings on currency? I and my wife do like the shiny on our car rims and such but the phony money thing just leave a Whats the point in my mind? I Dun Know why they do it, do yuo?
