Reducing Solvent Emissions

Demand for waterborne coatings in the European and Asian markets has inspired one manufacturer to expand its existing production line for the automotive industry. Unlike typical coatings, waterborne coatings contain very low levels of organic solvents, reducing emissions and minimizing their affect on the environment. Also, the expansion of the current facility will enable to company to produce new colors for add-on components.

From the abstract available, it would be interesting to know the status of high solid coatings and powder coatings for the automotive industry. Also aqueous powder slurry is something to watch out for.
