Sheriff Andy Taylor of Mayberry, USA: "Barney, give me your gun."

Deputy Barney Fife: "Ah Andy, I'm sorry; I forgot I put my bullet in my gun after Thelma Lou and I got back from the diner."

Andy: "Barney, give me your gun."

Barney: "Andy, I'm really sorry about this. I'm just so excited about Thelma Lou and me getting invited to ride in you new boat."

Andy: "Barney, give me your gun."

Barney: "Andy, you won't tell the guys at Floyd's Barber Shop about this will you? They still pick on me about that sidecar motorsickle I got at the war surplus store."

Andy: "Barney, give me your gun."

Barney: "At least it only grazed Aunt Bea when it went off."

Andy: "For the LAST time Barney, give me your gun!"

George: Hey Ralph, What happened to your boat?

Ralph: Well i got the payment notice today......

George: Whats that got to do with your boat sinking?

Ralph: ......and i remembered a couple of years ago when you ran you car off the bridge into the river and claimed it was stolen...

George: SHHH no so loud, it worked and i got enough to pay for that car and have a llittle left over.....but whats that got to do with your boat?

Ralph: ....Well....i thought if i could sink my boat like you did your car, i could collect enough money from the insurance company to pay off my boat and have a little left over!!

George: Well, did it work?

Ralph: I forgot one small thing.....

George: Whats that?

Ralph: Insurance!!

In a statement today, regarding the sudden sinking of their latest project, the president of the Society for the Restoration of Antique Sailing Ships (SoRASS) said:

"We sent a letter to the restoration contractor yesterday stating that '...due to our current lack of funds, we must pull-the-plug on this project'......It seems we should have re-phrased that......"
