Wouldn't the front two axles have to be steerable....?

It appears the front to are, also the rear. Only the second from the rear appears to be fixed parallel to the frame.

It would have to have a complicated mechanical linkage to align the six steerable wheels on corners without chewing up the tires. Maybe it's only driven on the grass.

The use of hydraulics on the second and fourth axles slaved to the front axle would work. And adjusting the ackerman angles based on the distance to the third axle should give the proper angles to steer without too much tire wear. The third axle is most likely the drive axle.

If you look closely at the two photos, you will notice that the first photo shows all wheels pointing straight ahead.

The second photo appears to show both the front and rear sets of wheels turned slightly, front set turning to the right, rear set turning to the left, which is consistent with front/rear steering.

Crazy van for sale.

Four axle beast cobbled from three vehicles

Do you need a van? Then you need the four-axle GMC Camper, on sale now on eBay.

This V8-powered RV has four axles, one fixed, two steerables at the front and one steerable at the rear. Built from three vans stitched together, it's stuffed with a "genuine oak-wood kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, stove and sink, sofas around the kitchen table, leather LZ-boy, radio, communication radio, cassette player, mount-in-TV, toilet, Queen size bed, hardwood floors except bedroom which has carpet, 2 separate ACs for travel and camping, heater, sunroof."

Here another pic. You van just follow the comment link also.

Unless the front 3 sets are still steerable (or the middle ones are free to move plus the front ones only steerable) in some manner, I would guess that it only goes basically straight ahead......OW!!!!

Or its a cut and paste from someone's computer.... Which is where I put my guess....

Straight line down the quarter mile drag strip, at the local track,

It's best time with the turbo implant and the NOX feed is currently 1 minute; 27.993 seconds @ 89.467 mph.

What more can you reasonably expect from a Dodge 225 slant six - DAMN good motor, BTW!

The spoilers along the roofline don't seem to assist the top speed - only add to the drag co-efficient factor - BTTDB!

P.S. He built another one that was just as weird, different but weird.

Oh hell Yes. I rememebr the CUSTOM van craze back in the late 70's. Well before "the conversion van days" Water beds, disco balls, incredible murals, and like this pict, some really creative mechanical engineering.

Oh and what happened in the back was...... equally special! ;-)

This van was originally made for Parker Hannifin as a sales promotion tool for their telescoping hydraulic cylinders.

It was unwisely sold to and modified by a private individual who is also owns one of the original Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles. We can't post pictures of the Wienermobile in its modified state.
