Having had only limited success with golf balls and old tyres in stopping the Mexican Gulf oil leak, BP decided to try dropping diggers down the hole to see if that would work....

Something very similar happened to me while delivering a Backhoe.

I hadn't watched the weather for the area, no one was there to drive it off my trailer, and 8" of rain on a NICE golf course lawn lead to a moment where I can imagine how this guy feels. It wasn't this severe, thankfully.

Fortunately, I could still dig myself out. The lawn didn't fair well.
